Directions: The cemetery is located just South of Penokee on State Hwy 84. Turn off U.S. Hwy 24 at Penokee. Drive through town. The cemetery is on the West side of the road, just before the intersection with O Terrace.

SANGER T. N. 1868 1928 Father. Back of stone: Mr. Sanger enlisted 4/30/1890 at Fort Riley, Kansas. One of the first KS volunteers in the reorganization of Custer's D Troop of the 7th Cavalry. Mr. Sanger fought in the Battle of Wounded Knee at Pine Ridge Agency So. Dakota in Dec. of 1890. At times he was stationed at Fort Riley KS and at Carrizo, Texas patroling for Renegade Indians. In 1898 his unit transferred to Huntsville, Alabama & Macon, Georgia enroute to Vedado, Cuba until being discharged at Havana Cuba Apr 30, 1899. Obit "
